TRANS INTERNTIONAL / TRANSAMERICA AIRLINES REUNION NEWSLETTER 2020
UPDATE FOR THE 34th TRANSAMERICA AIRLINES REUNION
Fellow Former Employees of a Great Airline —-
We had a fabulous day on Oct5, 2019 with perfect weather for our 33rd Annual Reunion held at the Clubhouse at Las Positas Golf Course in Livermore, Calif. It was nice to not have to compete for parking with the Livermore Air Show right next door. Though we do love seeing the competitive flying.
Though our attendance was under 100 it offered quality time for visiting and sharing some of those colorful adventures. Our Specially Recognized attendees were F/E Jack Wagoner who is 95 years young, and the Most Senior Flight Attendant Donna Giles.
The Reunion Committee has been weighing all of the options for attending this year’s Reunion. As over 60% of the Reunion Attendees fly-in to Oakland, it will be a major challenge this year. With flight schedules restricted and a slow return in the next few months to flight availability, we feel the obstacles may be difficult and challenging. Many cities will not be serviced, and then those that are will have limited flights per day making connections very difficult if not impossible. With this being a major problem the Reunion Committee has decided that our best option would be to cancel the 2020 Reunion. This is unfortunate but necessary as low attendance would seriously impact our viable financial situation. To keep our per person price as it was last year we need to have at least 100 people attending. We want to continue future Reunions without these challenges we can’t control. We have received the 2021 Reunion Date. It will be in the same place as the past 6 years. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9,2021, 11AM – 5PM. THE CLUBHOUSE AT LAS POSITAS GOLF COURSE, 915 CLUBHOUSE DR, LIVERMORE, CA 94551. Mark your calendars now the date will not change.
Patti, Catie, and Lois take great effort to maintain an accurate contact database for all former employees. So remember to go on the web site and register any changes. We do not share your contact info unless you contact one of us on the committee with a request and we will research that request for you if available.
See you on OCTOBER 9, 2021 AT THE 35TH ANNUAL REUNION OF TRANSAMERICA AIRLINES.

TRANS INTERNTIONAL / TRANSAMERICA AIRLINES NEWSLETTER 2019
We celebrated our 32nd year of being out of business with a great Reunion on October 10, 2018, in our favorite venue “Beeb’s Restaurant at the Livermore Golf Course”.
However, the increased popularity of the Livermore Air Show that same day made parking a nightmare for many. So we have changed the weekend so as not to conflict with the air show. And due to the popularity of our venue (Beeb’s), we had to book a Sunday for the Reunion as all Saturdays have been booked in Sep and Oct for over a year.
So please mark your calendars for the 2019 REUNION ON SUNDAY, OCT 13TH at “BEEB’S” from 11 am to 5 pm. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience of travel but 2020 will return to a Saturday. Considering the short notice for the 2018 Reunion, there was a great turnout of 124 people, five of whom attended for the first time. John Knebel and Jack Wagoner were our oldest attendees once again.
A quick big thank you to Judy Taylor for helping Lois Cox host the 2018 Reunion while Catie and Patti took a year off. But they are back again and planning for this year’s Reunion along with Lois and Judy.
For the first time in 6 years we will have to raise the price of attendance to $50 if you prepay, and $60 if we receive your payment after Sep 30th or you pay at the door.
Our costs have all gone up and it is necessary that we keep a small reserve in our bank account to send out our newsletter before each Reunion. Those costs for us include P.O. Box rental, WebSite maintenance, and yearly fee, postage, the printing of newsletter, folding, and labels, catering, room rental, bartenders (an absolute necessity or we would have to walk to the other room to get a beverage).
The good news is with this increase we will be able to keep going for another few years, especially if we start sending the newsletter out via Email. So please send us your email if it has changed or we don’t have it.
You can do this on the website and enter any changes or updates. No email — you get it “Snail Mail” via United States Postal Service. Emailers will get it early.
Oh yes, the menu has just been secured. We are going back to our 2016 menu by popular demand.
The entrees will be bb-queue baby back ribs and grilled chicken with artichoke hearts and roasted garlic sauce. Side dishes are Caesar salad, fresh vegetables, penne pasta with marinara sauce, rolls, butter, and cheesecake. Coffee, ice tea, and soft drinks, and a no-host bar.
So please send us your Reunion reservation with a check made out to TV REUNION for $50. The address is: TV Reunion, PO Box 688, Livermore, CA 94551
